SAPPER AMANDEEP SINGH

Sapper Amandeep Singh was a native of Kalloh village in the Mansa district of Punjab. He was born to Shri Rohi Singh and Smt Sukhjeet Kaur. He was inducted into 114 Engineers of the Corps of Engineers. During 2017-18 he was serving with Border Road Organisation (BRO) which was engaged in an operation in Kupwara of J&K.

On 7th March 2018, Sapper Amandeep Singh was deployed in snow clearance duty in the Kupwara sector which involved the use of a bulldozer for the task. While Sapper Amandeep was driving the bulldozer to clear the snow, a horrific avalanche struck him and he got swept away and got buried in snow. A rescue team was sent to retrieve him and then Sapper Amandeep was immediately taken to the base hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.  

The valiant soldier is survived by his parents and four siblings.
