Security forces retrieved and destroyed over 200 detonators in Poonch

In J&K, the security forces recovered and destroyed more than 200 detonators on Saturday in Shindra area of Poonch district. It was launched by a joint team of the Indian Army and Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS) of both the army and the J&K police.

By patrolling the route of Shindra village in Poonch district, the Indian Army found a suspicious bag hidden alongside it. The BDS teams of the Army and Police, from the DPL Poonch, reached the spot, recovered the bags, and destroyed more than 200 detonators on the spot.

Indian Army teams were able to prevent a major incident that could have threatened long-standing peace in Poonch by retrieving these detonators before they could cause chaos on NH-144. No loss of life and property has been reported so far. And, search for more such explosives is underway on January 30.
