Sepoy Hasansab Khudavand hailed from a village in Navalagunda taluk in Dharwad district of Karnataka. He was recruited into the 21 Madras battalion of the Madras Regiment. He was serving in a unit deployed in the Kargil sector of the J&K area in 2016.

On 29th July 2016, Sepoy Hasansab was leading a patrol party. The patrol party while traversing through their planned route came under a mine blast. The blast was very severe and the soldiers including Sepoy Hasansab suffered serious injuries. They were evacuated for medical treatment but Sepoy Hasansab Khudavand later succumbed to their injuries and was martyred.
Sepoy Hasansab is survived by his mother Zeenatbee Khudavand, father Imamsab Khudavand, younger sister Paravenvanu Khudavand and younger brother Mabusab Khudavand.
