On 4th June 2015, a contingent of 6 Dogra, of which Sepoy Yadav was a part, was going to Imphal, in 4 vehicle convoy. On their way, they were ambush attacked by militants. They detonated IED on the convoy, killing 18 soldiers and injuring 11 others. It is believed that the attack was planned by NSCN (K), Kanglapak Communist Party (KCP), and Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL). Sepoy Yadav was one of the 18 soldiers who was martyred in the deadly attack.
The supreme sacrifice of Sepoy Ram Prasad Yadav and his comrades will always be remembered.
