Sepoy Rohin Kumar was born in the year 1996 and he hailed from Khas village in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh. He joined the Army at the age of 20, in the year 2016. He was recruited into 14 Punjab battalion of the Punjab Regiment. During 2020, Sepoy Rohin’s unit 14 Punjab was deployed in Rajouri district of J&K.

On 1st August 2020, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire and opened unprovoked firing. Sepoy Rohin and his comrades were manning the forward posts in Rajouri along the LoC. The Indian Army gave a befitting reply by firing with full intensity across the border. During the heavy firing from both sides, Sepoy Rohin got severely injured. He was rushed to the medical facility but he succumbed to his injuries.
The brave young soldier is survived by his parents and a sister.
