Subedar Bhoop Singh hailed from Rajasthan. He was very much willing to join Army. In 1992, he joined the Indian Army at an age of 21. He got recruited into the Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineer. He had served 25 long years in the Indian Army. In his later years of service, he was posted in the Rajouri sector of J&K. Coincidentally, his son Vishvendra was also posted in J&K. Vishvendra also went on to follow his father’s footsteps by joining the Indian Army, to serve the nation.

In 2017, Subedar Bhoop’s regiment in the Kupwara sector of J&K. And Kupwara was a very active area for infiltration and terrorist encounters. On 27 April, three terrorists descended from the mountain and came towards the army camp, and started cutting barbed wires at around 4:30 am. This was seen by the soldiers and then firing started from both sides. They fired upon the guards and went towards the quarters. And when they were going towards the quarter area, they were interrupted by Captain Ayush Yadav, and then a long gun battle started. Subedar Bhoop took his fire towards the enemy and provided potential support. And in a long battle, two terrorists were eliminated, but Subedar Bhoop also got a serious injury and he succumbed to his injuries.
He gave his selfless services to the nation for 24 long years. He was survived by his parents, wife, and two sons.
