The Indian Coast Guard was formally inaugurated on 18th August 1978 as an independent armed force of the Union with the enactment of the Coast Guard Act 1978. But on 1st February 1977, an interim Indian Coast Guard came into effect. Hence every year 1st February is celebrated as Indian Coast Guard Day.…
