Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
Following a piece of information about the presence of militants at Vailoo in the Komernag area of the Anantnag district, the security forces launched a cordon and search operation, a police official said.
The official said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire towards the security forces. Three militants have been gunned down in the operation which was going on till last reports came in, the official said.
This encounter comes few days after the security forces killed three militants in the Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, where the fourth militant surrendered to the security forces. They were local militants belonging to the Al-Badr terror outfit.
