Top commanders of the Indian Army will conduct a comprehensive review of security challenges faced by India, including eastern Ladakh and other sensitive zones along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), at a four-day conference starting on Monday.
The commanders will also discuss the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir amid the series of civilian killings in the UT in the last few weeks, people familiar with the conference said.
The conference will be held in Delhi. The people cited above said that the Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane and the top commanders will review the country’s combat preparedness in eastern Ladakh where Indian and Chinese soldiers have locked horns for 17 months.
They also added that the Army commanders are also expected to deliberate the possible impact of the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan on the security of India and the region.
“The second Army Commanders’ Conference of 2021 is scheduled from October 25 to 28 at New Delhi. Army Commanders’ Conference is an apex level biannual event which is held in April and October every year,” the Army said in a statement.
