The strategically important Nicobar group of islands of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is currently undergoing a multi-domain tri-service, officials said on Wednesday.
The exercise involved the mobilization of troops from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, and Indian Air Force for amphibious landing in close coordination with the paradrop of airborne troops.
In a realistic tactical environment, Shatrujeet Brigade was able to prove how quickly it can respond to situations because its paratroopers moved from the mainland to execute an airborne drop on an island territory of the Andamans.
Under the Andaman and Nicobar Command, the only combined army-navy operational command of Indian defence forces, the airborne drop took place.
Lt General Ajai Singh, Commander-in-Chief, Andaman and Nicobar Command, witnessed the airborne exercise and complimented the paratroopers for their battle readiness, the officials said.
