Two officers of the Indian Army have been conferred with the prestigious Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
“Indian Army’s Lieutenant Colonel Servesh Dhadwal and Colonel Amit Bisht have been awarded the Tenzing Norgay National Award 2020. Dhadwal has been awarded for skydiving activities,” said the Indian Army officials. Whereas Colonel Amit Bisht, Sena Medal, was awarded for his land activities.
Colonel Bisht is presently serving as the Principal in Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarakhand. He has a record of scaling more than 20 unscaled and unnamed technical difficult peaks in India and abroad.
Lieutenant Colonel Dhadwal is the chief instructor of the Indian Army skydiving team. He has provided training in skydiving to Special Forces of the Indian Army and National Security Guards. He also has several certifications and licenses from United States Parachuting Association (USPA).
