Union home secretary holds meeting on Jammu and Kashmir security

Union home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Tuesday assessed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir in a meeting with DGP Dilbag Singh, ADG Jammu Mukesh Singh, and IB chief Arvind Kumar.

This meeting was held after two low-intensity blasts were reported on May 27 in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. The meeting discussed the security of vital installations along the border and the Pakistan cellular network active in the region. The security of prisons and political workers was also discussed as militants may try to target local leaders.

The probe into the recent Jammu Air Force Station attack case has unveiled that the drones used in conducting and implementing the explosions carried 1.5 Kg of explosive substance RDX. Official sources said that either Lashkar-e-Taiba or the Resistance Front could be behind the drone attack.
