The founding father and first general of the Border Security Forces is Khusro Faramurz Rustamji. He is the only police officer in India thus far to have been awarded the Padma Vibhushan. In August 1952, Rustamji was selected to be the Chief Security Officer to India’a first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. In 1965, Rustamji was selected to raise the Border Security Force (BSF).
