The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) came into being on 24th October 1962. It was formed in the wake of Sino-India War of 1962. It is India’s primary border patrol organization with its border with China’s Tibet Autonomous Region. ITBP are deployed on border guard duties from Karakoram Pass in Ladakh to Diphu La in Arunachal Pradesh, covering 3488 Km of the India-China border.
